It is impossible to imagine the Sicilian rural landscape without including in the picture a few prickly pear cactuses, a plant that over the years has established itself as a symbol of the much celebrated island. A plant that, growing wild, offers fruits protected by thorns that conceal a rich, fresh and very sweet pulp inside, just like our troubled but precious and generous Sicily.
